What PageLoom accesses, where it is stored, and what never leaves your device.

Local-only principle

PageLoom captures, edits, stores, compares, and exports web pages entirely on your device. No byte of page content, screenshots, history, or settings is sent to Viremo Labs or any third party. There is no backend, no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no remote configuration, and no remote JavaScript.

Page access

The extension reads the active tab only while you capture it, using the activeTab permission granted by your click, hotkey, or context-menu action. It does not read browsing history, other tabs, cookies, or credentials, and does not request permanent access to all websites.

Local storage

Captures and metadata live in your browser profile:

  • IndexedDB (pageloom) — captures, edits, comparisons, site profiles;
  • chrome.storage.local — settings and site profiles;
  • chrome.storage.session — temporary capture job state.

Removing the extension deletes its access to that local data. Exported files (PNG/JPEG/WebP/PDF/ZIP) are created only when you explicitly export, via the standard browser download flow.

Permissions

activeTab, scripting, storage, downloads, offscreen, contextMenus, alarms — each is used only for visible capture, editing, history, and export functionality documented above.

Limited use

Use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements: captured content is never sold, never shared with advertising platforms, and never used for creditworthiness or unrelated purposes.
